earnings for equity

Definition:

the profit of a limited company for a period (consolidated profit after deducting minority interests if it is a parent company) after tax and after deducting preference dividends, but before taking into account extraordinary items. Earnings for equity normally includes the earnings of associated companies. Also called ‘amount earned for equity’, ‘earnings available for ordinary’.
