franchise

Definition:

A right, granted to one person (called the ‘franchisee’) in a geographical area, to conduct a certain line of business in a particular manner, using, for example, a certain business name or trade mark, trading in certain products, or using certain procedures, equipment or processes, use of which is controlled by the person (called the ‘franchisor’) who grants the franchise.
