hyperinflation

Definition:

inflation at a very high rate. Sometimes the term is used to refer only to inflation at an extreme rate, e.g. over one million per cent a year as in Hungary in 1945/46. Sometimes the term is used to mean inflation at a rate higher than would be tolerated in North America or Western Europe, e.g. one hundred per cent a year or more.
