Definition:

abbreviation: PLI or sometimes PII (professional indemnity insurance). A form of liability insurance that helps protect professional accountants and firms from bearing the full cost of defending against a negligence claim made by a client, and damages awarded in such a civil case. In many cases is required by professional bodies in order to practice as an accountant.
