Sandilands Report

Definition:

the document, Inflation Accounting. Report of the Inflation Accounting Committee, Cmnd 6225 (London: HMSO, 1975), which was the report of a committee appointed by the then Chancellor of the Exchequer and the then Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on 21 January 1974 to consider whether, and if so how, company accounts should allow for changes in costs and prices. Named after the chairman of the committee, Francis Sandilands, then chairman of Commercial Union Assurance Co. Ltd.
